so i had this conversation on the bus about this and that, and the topic of drinking came up. then, of course, the topic of excessive drinking came up.

lately i'm less and less into drinking - likely due to the massive and pathetic hangover i had about three weeks back. but, regardless, i've never in my wildest days understood people who go out with the intention of getting sick. you know the ones. like, let's spend 40 dollars for the pleasure of vomiting it back up again later.

in the course of the conversation this attitude of mine (why pay to vomit?) was compared to an attitude that may be had about many things... for example, skydiving: why pay to put your life at risk? and i agreed, but it sort of made me sad. am i really that lame, i thought?

but the thing is... i don't mind taking risks. going skydiving is like going out to have fun... you'll have a great time, and there's always that possibility that you'll impair your judgement and have one too many. but those people who go out with the intention of getting themselves messy... well that's like paying double to go skydiving without the parachute.

i'm such a grandma. and on that note, my muffins are burning...
