Future planning is fun.

Vancouver departure date (confirmed): December 2005

Whistler (or alternative ski hill) arrival date (confirmed): January 2006

Whistler (or alternative ski hill) departure date (tentative): April/May 2006

... Then what?

I'm trying to brainstorm realistic plans for next summer. The deal is, I need to make an excess of 2 grand per month and pay the absolute minimum of living expenses. I'm willing to take positions that suck if they pay my debt off quicker.

Possibilities I'm seriously considering so far include:

1. Cruise shipping. Being on the ocean is always a plus for me, even if it is locked in the bowels of a giant moving building that I'm not allowed to explore. Essentially I'm interested in this for the decent pay with free rent and food, and the slight chance that I might be allowed to explore a tropical island from time to time.

2. Teaching in Japan. Apparently, with the right company and considering my degree in English, this can earn me up to 3 grand Canadian a month. Also, any position that combines work with travel appeals to my itchy feet.

3. Working at the bank on SSI. Aside from really enjoying my old co-workers and my parents, and the free rent/food factor, this one is the least appealing to me. It involves seeing nothing new and too much old... not to mention the relatively crappy pay and the general feeling of backpeddling.

That's all I have so far. If anyone cares to voice an opinion or share experiences about the above ideas, please comment. Or, if you have another idea entirely, let me know.
