As much as I would love to say that I LOOOVE outdoor concerts/festivals... well, I can't 100% mean it.

Don't get me wrong... I love the atmosphere, I love being outdoors, and I love music. There's nothing like listening to an amazing artist with ocean breeze running over you and sunsetty mountains in the background.

But what I don't love is the inevitable argument between those who wish to sit, and those who wish to stand. I feel for both sides in this debate (and I myself am of the stand up variety), and that's why I can never understand why festival planners don't take this into consideration. Why not designate half of the space to be the stand up/dance area during the final performances? That way, if you know you won't want to get up, you won't sit down there in the first place?

And, I will also say this: why is it that the dancers inevitably get shoved to the very side, and then pushed back by security so far that they can't even see the stage beyond the speaker? I know there are many people who truly love the music who want or need to sit. But, there are also a lot of people who don't give a shit about the music who just sit like bumps on the ground. But, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a determined dancer who wasn't really and truly enjoying the music. So why should these people who feel the NEED to move to the music be relegated to the shittiest spot? Seems unfair to me.

All that said, I still sat for the majority of the show, because my respect for the people sitting behind me outweighs my own selfish NEED to dance. But you know what? I paid 35 bucks for that concert and it pisses me off that I can't just enjoy it without arguing. Boo.
