Today I recieved my letter of acceptance into the English majors program in Literature at UBC.

After three years of stress and tears and sleep lost and books read and existence questioned and self-worth doubted and then later affirmed and knowledge gained and alcohol consumed and illicit substances smoked and classes failed and grades achieved (though not always deserved) and... and...

Suddenly I feel accomplished. I've passed the halfway point. I've been accepted into my school, into my faculty, and now into my specialty. All there's left to do is about a year and a half worth of classes (with spots reserved especially for me).

I feel like I've successfully jumped the last big red-tape-hurdle before graduation.
