I really love the gym - I'm not just using that as a motivational mantra, I actually mean it. Because even when I'm having an unmotivated day, there's always something there to amuse me.
Today I couldn't help but laugh out loud at the ridiculousness of my gym's cardio circuit: a row of treadmills placed in front of a row of television sets, where lululemon-clad girls run at exactly 6.3mph towards ads for Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Oh, the irony.
Speaking of running, if you've been reading this for a while you might remember that in October I participated in Run for the Cure. In fact, you may have been one of the many people who contributed a total of $775.00 in pledges. That support was overwhelming.
One of the people I did this run with was an old Salish floor-mate. This amazing girl is now participating in The Weekend to End Breast Cancer, which raises funds towards the BC Cancer Foundation. For those of you who haven't heard about this, it's a really big deal. When you register, you commit to walking a total of 60km over two days, and to raising a minimum of $2000.00. So my friend has until August to achieve that goal.
Now most people say this, but I often wonder if people believe it: every little dollar does help, even if it's just to say "I'm dead-ass broke, but I support what you're doing." So if any of you guys have one dollar to spare, I'd encourage you to visit her donation page and take a look around.
