I Almost Forgot...

I almost forgot how pretty Salt Spring is in the springtime
I almost forgot how much I hate retail sales/service
I almost forgot how to drive a car
I almost forgot how much I love driving cars
I almost forgot what my friend's faces looked like
I almost forgot how nice it is to have a cat curl up on your lap
I almost forgot that there are still people who don't know about my tattoo
I almost forgot about the hippies and their all natural organic chocolate bars and deoderant crystals and biodegradable laundry soap and the lack of cars due to their disbelief in polution yet the mass hitchhiking because hey if your name ain't on the ownership papers then your participation doesn't matter
I almost forgot about the hippies and their all natural organic choclate bars and their good nature and general sense of balance and moderation and spirituality and kindness
I almost forgot how I laugh 'til I cry with my old friends
I almost forgot how hard it can be to be a member of a family
I almost forgot how much I talk
I almost forgot that I have a new little family in Vancouver
I almost forgot how strange it is to feel at home in two places at once
I almost forgot how sad it can all be
I almost forgot how to laugh it all off
I almost forgot how to cry it all away

I almost forgot to slap on a grin and get the most out of it, 'cause I'm going back to Vancouver anyway...

I almost forgot that just when I get fed up, I see something/someone that I love, and then this place fits like an old shoe... a little worn out but still a good fit
