I just got back from a stroll on the beach. It was so fantastic, the sun shining and all the Kitsilano poster children taking it in, shirtless, lying on blankets. Our internet is finally working and I have just set up my desk, the last piece of furniture that I needed. I'm finally able to put up my posters, finally unpack, settle in... and I'm leaving again.
Both Kits and SSI are beautiful, but it's hard to just go back and forth, back and forth... I won't be back here for good until the 19th and I still won't be 'settled in.'
But I guess I can't really complain. Not in the least. And it is nice to have the freedom to roam back and forth as I please. This was all my choice, after all.
Man, this place can be noisy. My room is below our landlord's kitchen and every morning I am roused by the pitter-patter of little feet... and the dropping of things on the kitchen floor... and the screaming and pulling hair of little children... you know, the usual. So far I don't mind though. It's a good thing we like it so much... that, and our landlord buys us ice cream when the Ice Cream Man drives by.
(YES, we have a local ICE CREAM MAN. His van plays the jack-in-the-box songs and EVERYTHING.)
I could keep rambling all day... after all, I have nowhere to be. Blissfull boredom... aah.
