The BEST day of 2003 (so far...)

Today I managed to get the two things that have been worrying me the most: A job and a house.

Hooray!

I got the boat skipper job. I shall now spend my summer driving a silly little boat around Steveston harbour telling the passengers about nature and historic Steveston village. I shall be out of the city every day. I shall be on the water every day. I shall have to deal with stupid tourists and all the rest of it, but I care not. Hooray!

We got a cute basement suite in Kits... and the neighbourhood's not as swanky as you might think. Really fun, lots of trees and grass, beautiful houses, everyone recycles, there's libraries and elementary schools and grocery stores and stuff all within a 5 block radius. The beach is 7 blocks away. The Naam is 5 blocks away. The B-line is 3 blocks away. Can we get much sweeter? Plus it's beautiful. Really bright and nicely sized rooms - the only problem is that it has low ceilings. At the lowest point it's about 5 foot 9. We can deal with this sacrifice though. It's kind of a novelty. We've named the house 'Malkovich' (see Being John Malkovich). Cute Greek landlords with kids. Hooray!

Wow. I feel so satisfied. I can't wait for April to be over.

Speaking of Being John Malkovich - John Cusack. I just watched High Fidelity again and DAMN do I love John Cusack. And thanks to Kaitlin...
