My body parts protest my brain's evil dictatorship...

Factoid numero 12,987 about me: I have never been though a major illness or injury. Unless you count the chicken pox when I was four years old. And I did sprain my wrist once... my left one, on summer vacation. No mono, no bronchitis, no broken bones or black eyes. This makes me wonder - when I'm in pain, is it really pain? Or is my perspective just off because I don't know what real pain feels like? Then again, my piercings and tattoos were no big deal. I don't know. The point being that my body is protesting me these days. My back, as always, is putting up a fight, and now my hip has joined in. I'm supposed to be snowboarding at Whistler this weekend. If this isn't better by tomorrow I won't be a happy camper.

I've been reading the news and I'm so pleased to see the protests in the US - it proves that the population isn't blind to Bush's propaganda. Apparently the mayor of San Fran is pissed off that people are coming into the city to protest. He wishes that they would protest in their own hometowns. Yes, because protesting in the fucking suburbs is going to really accomplish a lot. Sorry it's an inconvenience to you sir, but that's kind of the point.

Man, people can be so stupid.

I saw a kid tearing down posters for the walk out yesterday. You know, it's fine by me if you support the war. Fine in that way where I think everyone has the right to their own opinion. Of course, I think you're wrong, but I can see where you're coming from at the same time. So anyway, this kid was tearing down the posters. So lemme get this straight kid: I'm assuming you were tearing down the posters because you support the war and you don't support the anti-war movement. Further, this is probably because you support democracy and want to see the world rid of Saddam's dictatorship. So... by tearing down posters, you are interfereing with free speech... one of those fun little things that DEFINES democracy. Do you think Iraqi's are allowed to protest war? Do you think they're allowed to put up posters when they don't believe in their government? So fine, don't agree with the posters... but only a dictatorship would interfere with the population's right to free speech and protest.

Stupid.

Anyway, that's the extent of my political commentary. I do have hours upon hours worth of opinions on this, but I'll withhold them.

In our poetry class, Kaitlin and I have been doing a presentation about Allen Ginsberg's poem "America." This is meant to be a ten minute presentation. On Wednesday we presented for about half an hour. Today we presented for about half an hour. We're STILL not finished.

What overacheivers we are.

Well, when it comes to the beats, anyway.

Okay, class to go to, Whistler trip to commence.. sorry this entry was not more interesting.

Love!
Katy
