It's funny how political subject matter either sparks huge debate or makes everybody clam up. It's been a long time since an entry hasn't recieved a single comment. I'm not sure how I should interpret this silence. But, no one called me an uninformed idiot, so I'll assume I didn't offend anyone, and I'll move on.
Today was a wasted day, as Sunday's often are. My next essay not yet started, much TV watched, an epic Dr. Seuss-style poem written about Liz. Ah, procrastination, my good friend. Where would I be without your loyalty and diligence?
My dabbling into photography took a whole new turn yesterday. I brought my camera to the peace march (very good, btw), and realized the essential difference between photographing people and photgraphing rocks: people move. Needless to say it was a challenge I was unaccustomed to. There were so many moments that I missed, unable to get them into focus before they passed by. I haven't developed them yet, but I'm hoping that within the two rolls there might be a few gems.
I'm looking forward to the summer so much, when I can fill my free time as I choose. When I don't have to take my work home with me. Photography will definately be on my agenda this summer. As will my guitar, and yoga, and lying on the beach for hours on end, and dancing, and writing, and reading, and trips to my wee island haven.
But I digress.
Summer will also afford me the time to work on a project that I've been keeping on the back burner. A website. Some of you may remember my old website days. As much as I enjoy this journal, I miss the artistic freedom that a website affords. So, once money and time decide to cooperate, I am going to start a new one. Somewhere I can display my photography and perhaps my artwork. Not to mention my writing, of course. I'll probably post this journal there as well. Fun times.
So, today was a day of thought, of tea, of room cleaning and newspaper reading, of lounging and reading and talking and caring.
Oh, and I started knitting a blanket for my friend Sarah today.
See? I told you I'd write a non-political entry soon. I'm back to my old lady ways. I've got my knitting in one hand and my tea in the other. I'm set.
