I am a night person. I procrastinate and do not get to work until late. I never go to bed before midnight. This is how I function.
Quiet hours are extended right now from 6pm until noon. Here's what I'm getting sick of: I have been yelled at numerous times by my stressed out neighbour for small offenses such as talking too loud on the phone at 10pm. Okay, so I talk loud. But I'm getting kind of frustrated at not being able to talk to someone with bad cell phone reception in my own house, you know? Further, it's not even like she's frustrated with me because I'm a loud person and she's not. She's just as loud as I am.
I'm getting frustrated because no one seems to respect the morning quiet hours. For example, the aforementioned stressed out neighbour came home from her 8am chemistry exam the other morning and shouted about how hard it was right outside my door at 11am. Now, being 11am, I didn't ask her to shut up, because I figured it was a reasonable hour. IT WASN'T. Quiet hours are until noon dammit. I'm so mad at myself for not saying anything.
This morning I got woken up at 10:30am by people shouting and playing some sort of soccer-esque game in the hallway. I finally got up the balls to look out my door and glare at them... it worked, but they couldn't seem to understand what the big deal was. And, of course, I couldn't get back to sleep. C'mon people... why do I get yelled at to shut up at 7pm and it's all understood, but asking people to respect the same rules in the morning isn't cool?
Especially when you consider that when you disturb someone at 7pm, they can continue studying, or go back to bed and still get a good night's sleep. Once you wake a poor kid up in the morning, you've usually wrecked it. You have become a human alarm clock.
Nobody likes their alarm clock.
Fuck.
